Equestrian Centre

Founded in 1973, NEGS Equestrian Centre  with two indoor arena’s one of which is of international standard 80mtr x 40mtr and new stable complex, hot & cold wash bays, a cross-country course redevelopment to 2** level, by Mr Wayne Copping, (Australia’s leading international course designer/builder).  Approximately 30 new ‘‘horse rail’’ paddocks for agistment purposes.

The centre incorporates the Zita Denholm Building, which houses the staff office, equipment room, changing facilities and classroom.  Staffed by highly qualified instructors, the Equestrian Centre caters for special interests such as Showjumping, Dressage and Eventing, as well as other disciplines. With this fantastic facility on the school grounds and the future vision of the leaders of this amazing school, the New England Girls School is Australia’s leading Equestrian school.

As part of the New England Girls School, we offer riding tuition to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 - from the basics of learning to ride and care for a horse, to an ATAR course in Primary Industries (Agriculture-Horses) for students in Years 11 & 12.
Students may board their own horse at NEGS or the Equestrian Centre can provide horses for students to ride.
Students are given the opportunity to compete as often as possible.  Local clubs hold training and competitions each month, which enable more students to participate than are able when the school has to travel outside the area.

The facilities include an all weather floodlit indoor arena, an outdoor sand arena, a showjumping arena, a cross-country course, a polocrosse field, and approximately 60 acres to ride on, as well as a stable block.

The Equestrian Centre offers riding to the public from children and adults, beginners to advanced.
Lessons are run from 7am - 7pm during the week and 8am - 5pm during weekends. Riders can bring their own horse or use NEGS horses.
