Years 5 and 6 have started 2017 with a bang! They have embraced their new role as our school peer leaders with kindness and enthusiasm, guiding and supporting our kindergarten students as they settle into the new world of Primary school and leading our school assemblies with maturity.
Although we realise that at times learning can be difficult, years 5 and 6 have been working hard to further develop resilience and their positive attitudes towards learning. Students are consistently building their ‘growth mindsets’ and embraced the key messages presented by Andrew Fuller at our recent resilience workshops.
Their enthusiasm for learning was demonstrated in our recent visit to the senior school science labs to explore micro-organisms. A very big thank you to Mrs Fittler and Mrs Edmonds for facilitating this visit and allowing us to explore mould micro-organisms and fascinating Paramecium up close using the lab microscopes.
Years 5 and 6 look forward to growing in their role as peer leaders throughout the year and will always be available for help and guidance. So, just ask!
