NEGS Equestrian is in full swing this term with students putting in the extra effort for the big term of competitions coming up.

The squads are proving to be a great success, with the addition of campdraft coach, Codie Law, to the team.

Codie has a wealth of experience with all aspects of campdrafting. He is an accomplished competitor, renowned judge, has been on the board of both the ABCRA and ACA and is the current President of the NCCA.

He is thoroughly enjoying working with the girls at NEGS and parents are already seeing huge improvements.

The High Performance Squad has record numbers this term, with 17 girls being part of it. The program continues to challenge the students and build brilliant teamwork and camaraderie. There are many exciting opportunities on the horizons with the program, so keep an eye out for updates.

All the students, staff and parents have been gearing up for North West Equestrian Expo. The event is only a couple of weeks away with lots of new students looking forward to their first ever Expo.

Here are some recent results from the students:

Congratulations to year 12 student, Matilda McCarroll, for competing at Sydney International Horse Trials.

Matilda took both her horses and competed OTT, Cosmic Cube in the EVA95 and Kirby Park Masquerade in the EVA105.

Cosmic Cube had a lovely dressage test, superb cross country run and clean show jumping round to finish in 2nd place in a very competitive open class and 1st in the juniors.

Kirby Park Masquerade had a great first run in the EVA105 and finished 5th in the juniors.

NEGS girls made the trip down to the Australian Junior Polocrosse Classic in Albury over the school holidays.

Gemma Stuart was a team member for the NSW 1 Junior winning team. She also won best no 3 female player and was awarded champion junior girl horse and rider combination for the overall carnival.
Abby Finlayson was a member of NSW 2 Junior team. The team was runners up after a nail biting finish against NSW 1.

The girls also played at the Barastoc Warwick Carnival at the beginning of May.
They were members of the NSW Junior Girls team and won all their games. Gemma was awarded player of the match for two of the games.
Congratulations girls, brilliant job!

Congratulations to Jessica McGrath and the Cadzow sisters, Gabrielle and Bridgette, for their efforts at Big River Campdraft last weekend.
Gabrielle had two great runs on both her horses to finish 3rd and 4th in the Challenge.
Bridgette and Jessica were close behind and both scored 58 on their horses.
All the girls had great cut outs in the draft, with Jessica scoring a personal best!

The barrel racing proved to be very competitive, with less than a second between the top placings. Bridgette had a great run to finish 4th with Gabrielle and Jessica close behind.
Bridgette was the only junior to compete in the bareback cut out, showing off her horsemanship skills.

All three girls also competed in the gymkhana the following day, proving their versatility by placing in almost every event.

The girls have been training under the watchful eye of NEGS campdraft coach, Codie Law. We would like to congratulate the girls for all their efforts and thank Codie for his hard work!
