St John’s had a magical Book Day. We celebrated an enormous range of genres of characters, from Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter to a cheeky Zachary Quack. We hope that all our students are loving their reading and enjoying the world of their imaginations. We were very pleased to be able to present an enormous number of Book Challenge Certificates. Well done!!! Keep up the daily reading to ensure that your children are literate, strong readers who are beginning to look for favourite authors and books.
Biggest Morning Tea
Thank you very much for all your generous donations to our Biggest Morning Tea which was held on Thursday. With your help, we have raised over $500 for the Cancer Council. It was a great day all round and for those that attended, we hope you enjoyed some delicious cakes and good company during your visit.
It was wonderful to have friends from Autumn Lodge join us for the morning tea and Book Parade. Our Year 4 students enjoyed meeting their pen pals and the other residents who came for the visit. Connecting with Autumn Lodge and Ken Thompson Lodge is a special part of our literacy and Service programs.
Term 3 will bring Transition and Kindergarten experience days so we encourage all families who are interested in St John’s for their children to contact Enrolments on 6774 8700.
Explore NEGS will be theme of these incursion days and Mrs Nixon and Mrs McCann are already planning fun and exciting activities. Our current students will attend these days in either Kindergarten or Transition depending on their enrolment intentions for 2018.
