Years 5 and 6 News
This year, Years 5 and 6 have been engaging in a Pen Pal program with residents at Autumn Lodge. This community service initiative involves students writing letters to their pen pals at Autumn Lodge, as well as visiting the residents throughout the year. This activity provides a great opportunity for students to better understand the elderly members of our community and also to develop and display kindness and empathy towards others.
Years 5 and 6 have enthusiastically embraced writing these letters and visited their pen pals at Autumn Lodge for the first time last Friday. They all demonstrated great maturity when meeting and chatting with their new friends and performed a number of musical items to entertain the residents. The visit was enjoyed by all and Years 5 and 6 are looking forward to continuing to develop these relationships across the year.
