This semester, Year 9/10 Textiles and Design have been creating doorstops. To start this unit, students were shown how to create a number of Fabric Manipulation techniques like ruffles, prairie pleats, soluble web, fabric puffs and fabric including a way to pad out fabric pieces. The class then chose a pattern or made up a design for their doorstop. They then needed to include three fabric manipulation techniques onto the doorstop. A very creative process was undertaken by the girls and you can see the results in the photographs below. It has been a very successful unit of work and the class should be very pleased with their efforts. Well done to everyone!
