In week 3, Years 5 and 6 had a great time getting to know our new Chinese friends. They enjoyed sharing a classroom together, navigating language barriers and learning more about their customs and lifestyle. Wednesday was a particularly interesting day with Year 6 joining our Chinese exchange students on an excursion to the Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre. Here, students explored the bush, constructed bush shelters and learnt how to make a fire (complete with roasting marshmallows, of course). A highlight of the day was definitely the meet and greet with some native Australian animals which caused a lot of excitement (and some minor panic). We thoroughly enjoyed our time together and wish our Chinese friends a safe journey home.
