home/media/Netball NSW EmpowerPlay Program in 2018
08th May 2018
Miss Laura Cambridge
NEGS has been successful in its application to be one of the first pilot clubs to run the Netball NSW EmpowerPlay Program in 2018.
EmpowerPlay is a program built to increase self-confidence and generate awareness of an individual’s strengths to embrace better teamwork, implemented to provide current young netballers with a fun, engaging and social experience that adds value to the traditional participation in the game. It is an initiative set out by Netball NSW in the hopes of retaining participation in sport, in particular netball, of young players.
The benefits of the program include:
More empowered, resilient, compassionate and confident participants
Increase communication channels
Parent and coach handouts at the conclusion of each session
Increase club/school spirit and sense of belonging
Better relationships to improve quality of interactions
There are four modules taught over four years with three sessions in each. The first module, the Empowerment Module, will begin with our two IGSSA squads on Thursdays, 17th and 31st of May and the 14th of June.
