PROSPERing at NEGS

A warm welcome to all 2018 students and families. All students have spent time with their Year Advisors and Tutors to commence the embracing care and attention that your daughter receives at NEGS. Our whole school Wellbeing Program is built on the tenets of Positive Psychology established by renown psychologist Dr Martin Seligman. We also have the privilege of our teachers having been trained in “PROSPER” by Dr Toni Noble who is an Australian educator dedicated to embedding the principles of student wellbeing in schools.

PROSPER is an acronym for:

Encouraging Prosperity             P

Building Relationships               R

Facilitating Outcomes               O

Focusing on Strengths               S

Fostering a Sense of Purpose   P

Enhancing Engagement             E

Teaching Resilience                    R

One of the first activities that in which students participate is discovering their individual Character Strengths. I invite all parents and families to visit this website to discover your Character Strengths too, and how to build on these strengths: https://www.viacharacter.org/www/
