Last week 14 students from Years 8 and 9 travelled to Sydney to partake in a range of service activities. The activities were run by an organisation known as Schools 4 Good and involved such activities as the sorting of donated clothing and, the cooking and preparation of food. The students were able to witness first hand where the donations and prepared meals are sent.
The highlight of the trip was the Urban Walk. This was a program where a former homeless man discussed his experiences of life on the street as a young man and a tour around the Kings Cross area.
The trip really highlighted the need to become involved in volunteer work and the difference such experiences can make in a person’s life.
