IT news – NEGS Video Conferencing

IT News at NEGS

On Tuesday morning NEGS added Video Conferencing to the array of teaching technology deployed across the school.
A group of HSC students participated in a state wide DEC run webinar session with several other schools covering a range of valuable topics for their HSC preparation.

The video conferencing suite includes two HD monitors connected to a Polycom video conferencing unit which in turn accesses services via Telstra BlueJeans.

This facility interprets and enables video conference from any type of input – such as a smart phone, tablet, telephone or other video-conferencing unit. In the future teachers and students can look forward to live interaction between an excursion experience back to the school, virtual visits to art galleries and museums, school to school hook ups and virtual classrooms, bringing NEGS rural location closer to city and world wide resources.

The Video Conferencing Room has been furnished to facilitate conferencing, good sound and lighting for quality video conferencing.
