Academics

At NEGS, we consider each individual learner and their academic development. Our Learning and Teaching Framework has learning at its core. This reflects our purpose as a school – we are a community where people come to learn. But what we learn is more than just the curriculum. At NEGS, we learn to be empathetic, fulfilled people who embrace possibilities to contribute and thrive in a complex and changing world.

The NEGS Learning Journey

NEGS is committed to the development of our students as individuals, recognising their unique abilities and interests. The journey begins in the Junior School with curiosity in Pre-K to Year 2, building to courage in Year 3 to 6, leading into the Senior School journey of connection in Year 7 to 8, choice in Year 9 to 10 and challenge in Year 11 to 12.

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

With a focus on holistic development, our approach encourages curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and resilience.

Our teaching staff are dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to provide high-quality educational experiences and personalised support.

Inside Our Framework

At NEGS, our approach to teaching and learning is guided by a comprehensive framework grounded in research, values, and high-impact practices. Supporting Every Learner

Developing Independent Learners

NEGS is committed to equipping students with the skills to become independent and reflective learners. Our academic support programs encourage girls to take responsibility for their learning by building their capacity in goal setting, time management, and organisation. These structured study programs help students to identify their learning styles, reflect on progress, and seek assistance when needed.

Academic Support and Enrichment

At NEGS, academic support is tailored to meet individual needs. We offer targeted assistance in literacy and numeracy, as well as extension and enrichment programs for high-achieving students. Our approach uses a combination of academic data, classroom observation, and collaboration between staff to ensure appropriate differentiation and challenge for every learner.
