This is a very exciting time for you and your family to decide which school will best suit your future. There are so many reasons to consider NEGS in Armidale and we know everyone is different in their needs and decision-making. We welcome the opportunity to invite you into our family.

Enrolling is Easy

NEGS provides an educational experience for both boys and girls in Junior School and a tailored learning environment for young women in Senior School, with boarding houses to support students from outside Armidale.

Our personalised academic program encourages students to develop their talents and confidently express themselves. Our intimate class sizes are led by highly qualified teachers with a passion for learning.

Our Enrolment Process

We understand that choosing the right school for your child is a big decision. That’s why at NEGS, we take you through the process step by step, ensuring you feel confident that you are making the right choice as a parent.

Step 1 – Register your interest

Register your interest by completing the short form below (end of this page) and we’ll be in touch to commence the enrolment process.

Already decided NEGS is your school of choice? If so, you can get going on the full enrolment application here – Enrolment Form.

Please note that submission of either of these forms, at this stage does not guarantee entry of your child into the School. However, it does start the process towards your child’s possibility in joining us at NEGS.

Step 2 – Book a Tour

We’d love to show you our 50 hectare campus with a mix of old and new heritage listed buildings, state of the art Science laboratories, a multi-purpose centre and a national standard Equestrian Centre.

You can book your tour directly or get in touch and we’ll arrange your tour time and date for you.

You and your family will be guided around the grounds and also get a chance to meet our incredible teachers.

Step 3 – Invitation for Interview

Parents/guardians and the prospective student will be invited to attend NEGS for an interview.

As part of the interview process, school reports, test results, and samples of schoolwork will all be taken into account.

Please note that consent, where applicable, will be requested to contact the student’s previous school for a verbal reference.

Our School Principal holds to ultimate decision to offer a place at NEGS.

Step 4 – Enrolment Application

Now it’s time to complete enrolment, scholarship and bursary applications so that an Offer of Enrolment to attend the School can be wholly considered.

Step 5 – Enrolment Offer and Acceptance

Should an offer be made you will receive the Contract of Enrolment and associated documents.

To accept this offer and confirm a place for your child, both parents/guardians are required to sign the Contract and return it to the Enrolment Office along with the associated documents noted in the Contract of Enrolment and a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of $865 (including GST).

Why NEGS?

Enrolling at NEGS School is an exceptional opportunity for students seeking a holistic and enriching education. Scholarships & Bursaries

We also offer scholarships to exceptional students in Years 7-11 who demonstrate talent and passion in various fields, including academics, sports, equestrian, music, and visual arts. These scholarships provide deserving students with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and receive a quality education at NEGS.

Applications for our Scholarships and Bursaries are accepted all-year round but we recommend families to apply by March as our round one offers commence by the end of March.

International Students Enrolment

NEGS welcome students from other countries, from Year 5 to Year 12 as day students or boarders. Coming to a new country can be strange and different, but at NEGS the friendly staff, beautiful surrounds and endless opportunities make the transition a smooth one. Our international students are encouraged and helped to integrate fully into school life.

We have a select number of approved International Agents. Applications for enrolment can be made by completing the Enrolment Application Form.

A school for you

My favourite thing about being at NEGS is all the animals we get to feed. It makes it fun and we always have something to talk about which makes me feel really happy.

At first I thought I was going to be nervous, starting at a new school, but it ended up really easy to fit in at NEGS. The friends I made are lots of fun and I love the animals.

You can usually catch me down here before classes start and as soon as they finish again in the afternoon. It takes a lot to make sure he is ok, and we do miss each other too!

An Affordable Way To Invest In Your Child’s Future

NEGS has partnered with Edstart to make it easy for you to manage school fee payments. With Edstart Plus, you can spread your fees evenly across the school year in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.

Edstart will pay your invoice to the school each term and debit your bank account during the year based on your preferred frequency. You can use Edstart to cover tuition fees, boarding costs and additional charges such as uniforms, extra-curricular activities, camps and trips. For more information, visit edstart.com.au/negs.

Family Loyalty Discount

NEGS is committed to supporting our long-term families. Discounts on Senior School fees are offered to Junior School students when they move to Senior School when they have been continually enrolled at NEGS:

From Year 3 – 25%
From Year 4 – 20%
From Year 5 – 15%
From Year 6 – 10%

The Family Loyalty Discount applies to fees from Years 7-12 and cannot be used with other discounts.

Sibling Discount

NEGS offers sibling discounts to families with more than one child (applicable from Kindergarten to Year 12) attending the School. Where a family has a child who is in receipt of a scholarship, sibling discounts may not apply. Sibling discounts are applied to tuition fees only and at the rate of 20% reduced tuition fee for the second child and 30% reduced tuition fee for the third and subsequent child.

Fees Paid In Advance

The School may offer discounts on fees where fees are paid in advance for the following school year. Payment of fees in advance is due in November each year. Conditions apply, and details regarding fees in advance are sent to parents in October each year.

Withdrawal of a Student

Notice of withdrawal of a student must be given in writing to the Principal at least one term in advance, otherwise, a term’s tuition and boarding fees (if applicable) will be charged.

Terms of Payment

Tuition and boarding fees are invoiced in four instalments each year (three instalments for parents of Year 12 students). Please refer to the Invoice / Statement for the due date.

Parents are asked to immediately let the Business Manager know of any change in circumstances which may affect their capacity to pay the fees so that special arrangements can be made.

Payment Options

Fee payment options include BPAY, direct debit, credit card, cheque and cash. Payment plans are also available (conditions apply – see below for more information).
