International Students
At NEGS Armidale, we proudly welcome international students into our close-knit school community. With a strong emphasis on personalised care, academic excellence, and a safe boarding environment, NEGS provides a home away from home for girls from around the world.
A Leading Choice for International Students
Located in the peaceful regional city of Armidale, NEGS offers international students a safe and welcoming environment where they can focus on their studies and personal growth.
Students are supported by a close-knit school community that values each individual’s strengths. With small class sizes and dedicated academic and pastoral care, students receive personalised attention and guidance throughout their journey.
Whether boarding or attending as a day student, international students are encouraged to thrive both in and out of the classroom through a broad co-curricular program that includes equestrian, agriculture, music, the arts and sport.

Once a visa is granted and enrolment is confirmed, students and families will receive pre-arrival information to help them prepare for life at NEGS. This includes details about uniforms, what to pack, airport transfers, and how to get to Armidale.
It is recommended that students arrive in Australia a few days before the term begins to allow time to settle into their new environment. Our boarding staff are available to welcome students and assist with the transition.
All new international students take part in a dedicated orientation program upon arrival at NEGS. This program is designed to help students adjust to school life in Australia, understand expectations, meet key staff, and make new friends.
The orientation includes campus tours, cultural briefings, academic information sessions, and an introduction to boarding life. Students are also supported by our wellbeing team and boarding staff, who provide ongoing care and guidance to help them feel at home.
NEGS offers a supportive, inclusive environment for international students, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, safety and academic success. Most international students live on campus in our boarding facilities. This is the default accommodation arrangement and satisfies the visa requirements for students under 18.
In rare cases, alternative accommodation may be approved if the family arranges a suitable guardian locally. However, NEGS assumes students will board unless formal arrangements are made and approved by the school and relevant authorities.
Students are encouraged to review the International Student Handbook for detailed information about day-to-day life, policies, academic support, and living arrangements at NEGS.
